OpenID

How many passwords do you use on the Internet? Most websites require visitors to enter a personal secret password to authenticate themselves. However, most people use the same password on all websites, which raises serious security concerns.

Orbit One strongly believes that today’s web developers should avoid using username/password authentication on Internet-facing websites. Instead, we favour the use of OpenID identity service, which allows Internet users to log on to a number of different websites using a single digital identity and sign-on. This eliminates the need for a different username and password for each site, but without compromising all-important security.

Acting on our convictions, we have implemented and supported OpenID in many projects, including ASP.Net and SharePoint.
